  Pharos Enterprise Benchmarking software: the major upgrade in 2010

The Pharos Enterprise Benchmarking project had emerged as a result of implementations of UNIDO “Pharos – Business Navigator” software in industrial upgrading programmes by UNIDO and EC in different countries for 1997 – 2008. The Project facilitates easy access of private and public organizations to innovative ICT applications and variety of value-added services for different groups of stakeholders. Its content extends known ICT applications in business intelligence, business performance management to new perspectives by introducing a new generation of innovative, powerful, agile yet easy to use integrated information tools for measuring, monitoring and benchmarking of organizational processes. It helps staff members  in implementation of major business intelligence concepts providing new vision of application simplicity and personal comfort, facilitates best practices in monitoring of results in daily applications, its sharing among employees and employers.

The design, interface, reference and learning materials are implemented with special focus to assisting personnel of small and medium size enterprises as well as service oriented private and public institutions. The software provides unified platform for management methods and processes for improving results by setting and evaluating goals, understanding, optimizing and aligning daily activities to business targets for organizational, departmental and individual performance.
The innovative approach to learning, training, creative entrepreneurship and social involvement implemented in the software facilitates establishing and exchanging of best practices, unified benchmarking procedures and transfer of knowledge between stakeholder groups.
The software incorporates functionality of Pharos-Business Navigator (1996-2007), FIT, Produce Plus and BEST.

·         Unified (”core”) set of Key Performance Indicators for organizations including financial, manufacturing, operational, strategic, social and environmental (energy, water, waste) indexes based on common enterprise data

·         Build-in editors for introducing / modifying indicators for monitoring of locally formulated tasks and business processes (customized definitions of processes)

·         Multi-criteria views to organizational activities and business processes by combinations of indicators (preset and customized locally)

·         Advanced, unified yet very simple target definition methodology and tools for organizational goal setting for selected business processes, its monitoring and forecasting facilitating controllable enterprise developments

·         Interoperability and integration with other in-house systems and databases

·         Automatic business process measurements and database updating

·         Automatic enterprise benchmark reporting against pre-defined events and goals

·         Comparisons of actual results against those in the past and enterprise groups

·         Rich set of applications and reporting to various devices including mobile phones, enterprise web, e-mail, etc.

·         Intuitive user interface, self-learning aid for users with limited computer skills

·         Multilingual implementation allowing local customization and modifications

·         Highly customizable content of applications and its descriptions in system help, procedures, instructions facilitating knowledge development and sharing

·         Add-on e-learning, examples and case study analysis tools

·         Running on commodity hardware under MS Windows or Linux in common enterprise intranets

·         Multi-user operational environment with scalability depending on used hardware

·         Adaptability to enterprise growth up to several hundreds of users

·         Installation and application options in cloud computing and external hosting
